A Brief Biography

Professional

I graduated from New York University in 1987 with a BFA in Film Criticism and a minor in Political Science. I spent ten exciting postundergraduate years working in New York, traveling and taking advantage of the many cultural opportunities the city had to offer. I worked at a very large and prestigious law firm (400 attorneys, 72 partners – all with tempers) and got tremendous experience in all aspects of law firm life. For several years, I also helped manage a popular blues bar in Hoboken, New Jersey. I made many of my closest friends there and still love to see live music, particularly blues, whenever I can.

For most of my time in law school, I worked as the Chief Deputy Register of Wills for New Castle County. The summer following my graduation, I had the great privilege of clerking in Delaware Superior Court for the Honorable Richard S. Gebelein. For the next two years, I worked as an associate attorney at a small boutique estate planning law firm in Old New Castle where I gained valuable experience working with high net worth clients and their families before opening my own office.

I am admitted to practice law in Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. My husband, daughter and I make our home in Arden, Delaware where we are active in the many cultural and social activities our community has to offer.

Personal

I was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1963 into a large Italian family. When I was nearing school age, my family moved to Parsippany, New Jersey where I spent the rest of my childhood.

I moved to Delaware in 1997, when I became engaged to my husband, David. Our two-week old daughter, Lily Grace, helped us celebrate our first wedding anniversary and then watched her mother prepare for law school. I attended Widener University School of Law in the evenings while working full time. Soon after I started law school, I was informed that an anonymous donor wished to give me a full scholarship for two years of tuition and expenses. I am still moved when I think of that person’s generosity and belief in me. Whenever I became tired or discouraged by long hours or work demands, the thought of that person energized me and kept me focused on my goal of becoming an attorney.
